Many baby clothing brands fall into two camps: bright, saturated colors with cartoonish patterns or muted neutrals with minimal design. For Bamboo Little, we found a balance between these extremes, creating an aesthetic that feels gentle, warm, and inviting. The brand identity combines soft colors with refined yet approachable typography. Their wordmark alludes to the bamboo itself—its mix of curved and sharp edges mirroring the stalks and leaves, while lowercase letters nod to the youthful spirit of the brand’s baby and toddler audience.
Custom patterns and textile illustrations set Bamboo Little apart, capturing a lighthearted and endearing charm. Each design celebrates the imaginative wonder of childhood without veering into overly cartoonish territory. As Senior Designer Leia Reedijk notes, "I think of the illustrations as interpretations of the animals, designed to capture a childlike charm.” We try to find the details that make us smile when we think of each animal—a hippo’s big nose, the stretch of a playful lion, the serene expression of a napping sloth.
For the website, we focused on creating a shopping experience that is both intuitive and professional, fostering trust and credibility among online shoppers. The site’s clean structure, curated imagery, and cohesive use of color and typography align with Bamboo Little’s ethos, seamlessly blending functionality and brand storytelling.
